Confirm a customer's phone number inside a chat (no code)
Use the Verify Phone on WhatsApp block to confirm the number someone types on Instagram, Messenger or TikTok before you call them or deliver a cash-on-delivery order.

On Instagram, Messenger and TikTok you don't get the customer's phone number. When they type one, it may have a typo — or be fake. The Verify Phone on WhatsApp block sends a one-time code to that number on WhatsApp and waits for the customer to type it back in the same chat. If it matches, the number is theirs.
Before you start
Codes are sent by a Verify app: WhatsApp Corner → Verify & Notify → create one and wait for Meta to approve its code message (a few minutes). You don't need a developer or the API key for flows.
The quickest way: a ready flow
- 1Open Flows → Templates and pick Callback request with a verified number, or Cash-on-delivery order with a verified number.
- 2Press Use template. If you have one Verify app, it is chosen for you; otherwise click the Verify Phone on WhatsApp step and pick the app.
- 3In the same step, type your country code (for example 20 for Egypt or 966 for Saudi Arabia) so numbers typed the local way, like 010…, still work.
- 4Press Test to walk through it, then Publish.
What the customer sees
- The flow asks for their number.
- A WhatsApp message with the code and a Copy code button arrives.
- They type the code in the chat. A wrong code gets one more try; "resend" sends a new one.
- The flow continues: verified, failed, or not sent.
The three ways out of the block
- Verified: the number is saved on the contact as Phone verified, and {{verified_phone}} holds it for later messages.
- Failed: too many wrong codes, the code expired, or they stopped answering. Hand them to a person rather than blocking them.
- Not sent: no number, no Verify app, or WhatsApp refused. The customer was asked nothing, so the flow can carry on — the cash-on-delivery template still takes the order.
What it costs
Each code is one authentication message, billed by Meta to your WhatsApp Business account at your customer's country rate. Your Verify app's limits (codes per number per hour, wait before resend, allowed countries) apply to flows too.
