How to use it
- 1
Read the rate for each kind of message sent to +966 numbers.
- 2
Type how many marketing, utility and authentication messages you send a month, and how many replies.
- 3
Use the monthly total to budget, then confirm on Meta's rate card before you commit.
The price follows the customer's number
Meta charges by the country code of the person who receives the message, not where your business is. A message to a +966 number costs the Saudi Arabia rate wherever you send it from, and a message from Saudi Arabia to another country costs that country's rate.
Which messages cost money
Meta charges per delivered message, by category: marketing (offers, announcements), utility (order, delivery and booking updates) and authentication (login codes). Since 1 October 2026, replies to customers — by a person or an AI — are charged at the utility rate after the first 1,000 a month per business number. Everything is free for 72 hours after a customer writes from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad.
What businesses in Saudi Arabia send most
Appointments, deliveries and verification codes dominate: clinics and salons remind customers of bookings, stores send shipping updates, and apps send login codes. Authentication and utility share one rate here, and both cost far less than marketing — so a reminder that stays free of offers keeps the lower rate.
Questions people ask
How much does the WhatsApp Business API cost in Saudi Arabia?
The rate per message for +966 numbers is shown in the table on this page, for each category, as Meta publishes it. Your total depends on how many messages of each kind you send; the calculator works it out.
Who do I pay?
Meta bills your WhatsApp Business account directly, to the payment method you add in Meta Business Suite. A platform such as Chatmizer charges for its software separately and does not mark up Meta's rates.
Is marketing more expensive than utility?
Yes, in every market. That is why a template with any promotion in it is approved as marketing: keep order and booking updates free of offers to pay the utility rate.
Is Saudi Arabia's rate the same as the rest of the Gulf?
No. Saudi Arabia has its own rates, and so do the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman; Bahrain is priced with Meta's "Rest of Middle East" group. Each recipient's country code decides the rate.
What comes next
Knowing the rate is half of it. Chatmizer sends your order updates, reminders and broadcasts on the WhatsApp Business API, and its AI agent answers your Saudi Arabia customers in Arabic or English — so the messages you pay for turn into sales.
