Why the category matters

Meta prices WhatsApp templates by category: marketing costs the most, utility and authentication less. A utility template with any promotion in it is approved as marketing instead, so the same message costs more. Keep order and booking updates free of offers.

What gets a template rejected

Starting or ending with a variable, numbering variables with gaps, broken brackets, too many variables for the length, asking for full card, bank or ID numbers, threatening wording, and copying the wording of a template you already have.
